Фотографии из архива BBC, на которых изображены наиболее весомые, по мнению авторов-фотографов, события 20 века. Большинство этих фотографий являются своего рода символами прошедшей эпохи. Не одно поколение фоторепортеров было воспитано на этих кадрах, которые можно смело считать шедеврами мировой фотографии.

Утюг (англ. Flatiron Building; известен также под названием «Флэтайрон билдинг») — небоскрёб в Манхэттене, расположенный на месте соединения Бродвея, Пятой авеню и Ист 23 стрит. Название переводится с английского как Здание Утюг из-за его формы, напоминающей утюг. Автор строения — Дениэл Бернэм (англ. Daniel Burnham). Строительство 82-метрового здания было закончено в 1902 году. В то время Flatiron Building стал одним из самых высоких зданий в Нью-Йорке. Интересная особенность Flatiron Building заключается в том, что оно было одним из первых высотных строений, конструкции которого крепились на каркас из стальных балок.
